Redesign of the interior of the second adjoining house, bought while under construction. Project year: 2008-2009.
Private Client
This residence extends over two floors above ground level. The main eye-catching features of the interior are the light-filtering glass brick walls and the pastel shades preferred by the Clients. On the ground floor, both the living area and the guest room are dominated by shades of lilac and pink. In the private area on the first floor, it is the colour aquamarine that dominates and contrasts with the warm merbau wood flooring.
In both bathrooms a mosaic of vitrified ceramic tiles was used, individually positioned one by one following a customised pattern: in the ground floor bathroom the mosaic is used to create an original design which comes up out of the floor and cuts diagonally across the wall of the corner shower unit and continues up to become a crowning feature of the bathroom, at a height of one metre; in the first floor bathroom, the mosaic emerges from the floor where the parquet enters the bathroom, around the area of the bathroom fittings. It then rises up to completely cover the walls of the corner shower unit creating a strong visual impact for anyone entering the room.
The main feature of the entrance hall is a double-curved glass brick wall. It stops a few dozen centimetres below the hall’s suspended ceiling, dotted with spotlights, so as to separate it from the fibre optic lighting in the living area (the lighting has not yet neen installed as the Clients have put on hold this latter work). Going up to the sleeping area you are welcomed by the greenish light which filters through the glass brick wall that separates it from the hallway, as a foretaste of the colours that dominate the whole floor.
