Apartment in Seregno (Monza/Brianza)
ORIGINAL / DESIGN PROPOSAL
Preliminary project for a new interior layout. Project year: 2007.
Private Client
The Clients were assessing the potential of an apartment with a view to buying it. They contacted the architect for a feasibility study because they wanted to understand how the purchase price of the apartment would relate to the estimated costs of any work necessary to adapt it to their living needs.
The request was to create a larger living room, a study and a kitchen-diner, getting rid of the small dining area.
The request was to contain costs as much as possible and so the proposal was to limit the work to the living area: the small dining area was transformed into a study and the kitchenette was extended, transforming it into a kitchen-diner and opening it up to the living area at the same time. The work also involved removing the walls to the left of the entrance hall to completely open up the living area and obtain the large living room that the Clients desired.
However the high estimated cost for the work led the Clients to decide against purchasing the apartment.
