Apartment in Lazzate (Monza/Brianza)
ORIGINAL / AS-BUILT
Redesign of the interior of an apartment, bought while under construction. Project year: 2006.
Private Client
The reason why the Client requested the work to be done was in order to lay out the living space differently, to make the apartment more suitable for their living needs. The redistribution of the space therefore meant that it became more practical for daily living, creating a large walk-in wardrobe for the main bedroom and obtaining a practical utility room in the centre of the apartment, where the lack of natural light made it unfit for normal everyday living.
A wall was supposed to be built between the kitchen and living room but this was eliminated thereby creating one single space. This solution shows off to better advantage the exposed beams of the wooden ceiling, and at the same time creates a more extensive living area.
In deciding on the shape and layout of the rooms, particular attention was paid to fitting out the area, a fundamental matter when designing living rooms which is too often neglected.
